Manitoba Hydro Goes Operational with Sun-Net TOA

Sun-Net Consulting (Sun-Net) announced it has successfully gone into operation with Manitoba Hydro's new Consolidated Outage Logging Application (COLA). Manitoba Hydro began the implementation of their COLA system with Sun-Net's Transmission Outage Application (TOA) in mid-September 2007. Sun-Net worked with Manitoba Hydro coordinating the development and integration of the COLA system. Manitoba Hydro began testing COLA with Sun-Net in early October 2007 and took final delivery on January 15, 2008.

Manitoba Hydro is the largest electric Utility in the province of Manitoba and is the fourth largest Canadian electrical utility. Today as a Provincial Crown Corporation it operates 15 interconnected generating stations servicing over 515,000 electric power customers. Since most of Manitoba Power's generation is hydroelectric, the Utility has very stable / low electricity rates and is a major supplier to the U.S. energy market. Sun-Net's Transmission Outage Application (TOA) software provides Manitoba Hydro with integrated Transmission, Generation and Distribution outage scheduling and logging. TOA has been recognized as an Example of Excellence in recent NERC Audits.
It is great privilege for Sun-Net to provide Manitoba Hydro with software solutions to enhance and streamline their operational processes." said Dick George, Senior Executive Consultant of Sun-Net in San Jose, California.
